According to multiple reports, Kesari 2 will begin streaming on Jio Hotstar from June 13, 2025. While an official confirmation is still awaited from the platform, anticipation is already building among fans who couldn’t catch the theatrical release.
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Kesari. This chapter draws inspiration from the book The Case That Shook the Empire by Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat. It revolves around lawyer C. Sankaran Nair, played by Akshay Kumar, and the legal aftermath of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. R Madhavan and Ananya Panday portray fellow lawyers Neville McKinley and Dilreet Gill, adding emotional and ideological complexity to the courtroom drama.
Produced by Dharma Productions, Cape of Good Films, and Leo Media Collective, the film opened in theatres on April 18, 2025, and received a warm response from both audiences and critics. Despite competition from Jaat, Ground Zero, and Raid 2, Kesari 2 held strong, collecting a worldwide total of ₹145 crore, including ₹92.63 crore India Net and ₹110.47 crore India Gross.
