Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara is not just winning hearts at the box office, it's now rewriting history in the global music space. The film, which marked the dream debut of Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, has now pulled off something no other Bollywood project has done before   placing a Hindi film song firmly in the global pop arena.

The title track of Saiyaara, sung by Faheem Abdullah, has stormed its way into the Top 10 of the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, sitting comfortably at No. 4. In doing so, it has overtaken major international heavyweights like Justin Bieber’s “Daisies” and BLACKPINK’s Rosé and Bruno Mars’ collab track “APT”. Only three global tracks rank higher, including BLACKPINK’s “Jump” and the chart-topping “Golden” from the KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack.

That’s not all. The same track also debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard Global 200, making it the first-ever Bollywood song to break into the Top 10 of both major global charts. It’s a landmark achievement, not just for the film but for Indian music as a whole.

On Spotify, the Saiyaara title track is breaking streaming records. It became the first Bollywood song to hit No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top 50. The song experienced a whopping 321 percent surge in global streams, clocking 98 million plays in a single week. Out of that, 96.8 million streams came from outside the United States   a staggering sign of its global reach. Meanwhile, digital sales spiked by 778 percent, with over 1,000 units sold worldwide.

The song’s domestic success has been just as explosive. It is currently ranked No. 1 on the India Songs chart, and its jump from No. 177 to No. 4 on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. is the third-biggest leap in the history of the chart.

But it’s not just the title song stealing the spotlight. The entire Saiyaara album is being hailed as one of the most emotionally rich and melodically powerful soundtracks in recent memory. Tracks like “Barbaad (Reprise)” by Jubin Nautiyal and Shilpa Rao, “Tum Ho Toh” by Vishal Mishra, and the hauntingly beautiful “Humsafar” by Sachet-Parampara are all trending across music platforms. Even the reprise of the title track, sung by Arijit Singh and Shreya Ghoshal, has found its place in the top 10 on Spotify India.

Backed by Yash Raj Films and helmed by Mohit Suri, Saiyaara tells the heart-tugging story of Krish Kapoor, an aspiring musician, and Vaani Batra, a lyricist battling early-onset Alzheimer’s. The film’s emotional narrative combined with its powerful music has clearly struck a chord with audiences, not just in India but across continents.

As Bollywood continues to search for global recognition in music, Saiyaara may have quietly started a new era   one where Hindi tracks don’t just top domestic charts, but go toe-to-toe with the biggest pop hits in the world.
