Unni Mukundan to Play Narendra Modi

Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan, known for acclaimed performances in Marco and Garudan, has been chosen to portray Prime Minister Modi in this ambitious biopic. The actor shared his excitement on social media, recalling his personal interaction with Modi in 2023, which he described as a life-changing experience.

Mukundan revealed that playing such a monumental role is both overwhelming and inspiring. He said the film aims to showcase not just Modi’s extraordinary political journey, but also the man beyond the leader, highlighting his deep and emotional relationship with his mother Heeraben.

Storyline and Themes of Maa Vande

The film will trace Modi’s life from his childhood days to his rise as the Prime Minister of India. Beyond the political milestones, Maa Vande will shed light on the mother-son relationship that shaped Modi’s personality and resilience. According to Mukundan, Modi once shared two words with him in Gujarati  “Jhookvanu Nahi” meaning “Never Bow Down”. These words, he said, continue to inspire him in both personal and professional struggles.

Production and Release Plans

Maa Vande is being produced by Veer Reddy M under Silver Cast Creations and directed by Kranthi Kumar CH. It will be released worldwide in multiple Indian languages as well as in English, making it a global cinematic event. The technical crew features some of the best in Indian cinema, including K K Senthil Kumar as the director of photography, Sabu Cyril as the production designer, Ravi Basrur as the music director, Sreekar Prasad as the editor, and King Solomon as the action director.

Film critic Taran Adarsh has confirmed that the movie will highlight not only Modi’s political journey but also personal milestones, with his mother Heeraben playing a central role in shaping his life.

Not the First Modi Biopic

This is not the first film on Narendra Modi’s life. In 2019, Omung Kumar directed a biopic starring Vivek Oberoi, which attempted to capture Modi’s rise. However, Maa Vande promises a grander and more emotional scale, with cinematic storytelling crafted to appeal to audiences across the world.

A Grand Tribute on His 75th Birthday

The announcement of the biopic on Modi’s milestone 75th birthday adds to the celebrations, with the Prime Minister receiving wishes from leaders, celebrities, and millions of citizens. With Unni Mukundan stepping into his shoes, Maa Vande is set to be one of the most anticipated biographical films in recent times.
